Rochester 2000 Photos

The Rochester 2000 project is an outgrowth of the Greater Rochester History Online project both of which began in 1998. The purpose of GRHO is to bring historical data, particularly images, to the World Wide Web. With an eye to the future and contrast today, current photographs are being taken of the downtown area of Rochester, Michigan and surrounding points of interest. Photographing will continue over two to three years.

About the Photographer

Mary Vander Linde is a librarian in the Adult Services Department of the Rochester Hills Public Library. In 1986 she began photography as one of her many hobbies, focusing on nature, wildlife, and landscapes. In the early 1990s, this led to amateur photography on behalf of the library. She photographed many of the pictures illustrating the services of the Outreach Services Department. Now Ms Vander Linde is turning her lens on the businesses and institutions of the Rochester area.
